My Wild Vacation – Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary – Sept 2000 to Sept 2010
I’m sitting here having a couple of ice cold PRESIDENTE beers at one of the bars overlooking the anchorage at the lagoon with Captain Jose, and he has just confirmed what I wanted to know. Three days ago his boat, Marlin Chaser, caught 3 marlin on a half day charter. The mahi fishing has tailed off a bit, and the small tuna are here offshore. And so are the marlins…
That is enough news for me to organize (in the next week or so) another fishing road trip down here to Rio San Juan to stay in the old French lady’s hotel and a charter with Captain Jose to chase some big fish. Ah yes! Fish for our big chest freezer and the charcoal barbie at the Beach Villa. It will be good to get back out on the water again after a month’s hiatus. No excuses. Because the weather has been close to perfect for weeks. We have only had a couple of days of rain after 2 hurricanes blew well to our north, but nothing more. One guest, Joshua, was here a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed perfect weather while the 2 tropical storms headed toward HIS island, Bermuda, off the coast of North Carolina.
Labor Day week was 87 degrees, the constant sea breeze, and sunny with 5 guests (all repeat guests) here at the Beach Villas, and the company of 10 beautiful chicas. Good week.
Cliff (aka Captain Clitt or RagTop) was here for a 3 day visit. He was in superior form, “knocking the bottom out” with 7 girls (his “quota”). Man, that guy is insatiable. And no one knows for sure if it is CIALIS assisted or not. I still want to know what he thinks CFO means….
Dana (aka Book Em Dano) was here for 4 days. It was his third trip to the MWV villas this year. Four days is not a long time. But is was long enough time to get engaged to Maria. That makes number 46. The number of girls at the MWV villas engaged or married to our guests. They said that they want to have the wedding here on the beach in front of the villas, maybe in November. It should be one hell of a bachelor party since Maria swears that she is not in the least bit jealous. And she wants to “share” her new fiancee with her girlfriends. Hmmm… Could be interesting…
Big Dog/ Perro (aka Billy) was here for the festivities. He wanted to show everyone the new diamond ring that he bought for Faviola ( Number 45). But, you know Perro. That’s how he got his name. He is the party animal and spent most of his time in the pool with all of the girls. Hey. Big Dog. Are you ready for another cold beer? (He has a story about one day three years ago of drinking 32 beers -Polarcitas- at the Margarita Island Villas). I can believe it. We went through 12 cases of beer (32 per case) on a Halloween a few years back.
From one guest that has landed two wives at the villas (Perro) to another who hardly drinks , is 65 years old and still competes in triathlons. Iron Man Dan was here for the Labor Day party. He is the “perfect counter weight” to Dano and Perro. Iron Man says that he has never been married and never will be. His classic quote is, “It just wouldn’t be fair the all of those other women out there..” LOL.
Neal was back for his 7th visit to MWV (to both Margarita Island and DR Villas). The girls all love him. They call him “Neo”. Possibly because they can’t pronounce the “L” in Neal. Or because of his capacity to play multiple times during PARDEE HOUR in the afternoons. NEO means new. As in , “Juat give me 30 minutes to recharge Bebe, and I will be good as new.”
Neal was also here to play some golf. So he and I escaped from the girls at the villa to play Playa Grande Golf Club. Now. You need to understand that Neal works in the “upper hierarchy” of a large international communications company and he has played (with business associates) some of the “dream courses” that you and I can only imagine playing. Like Torre Pines or Pebble Beach. But he said that , without a doubt, that Playa Grande is the most scenic course that he has ever played. So scenic, in fact, that he lost 4 balls on Hole Number 7 . A par 3 that is rated as the most difficult on the course. Sorry Bud. But I just had to get that one in. Since you beat me by 4 strokes for the round.
Captain Jose is asking me if I will have another beer with him. But it is 3 PM and I need to get on the road. The drive back to the villas is about an hour or so. I should arrive just in time for cocktail hour (I hope that Yanni remembered to restock the garden barbeque grill /pool bar this morning). She is cooking dinner about now, Italian. As requested by the guests. Also tonight we all go out for “Casino Night”. Two of the girls won “big” on our last outing to the casino. Speaking of the girls , we are overdue for some updates of the girls profiles and photos. Coming up this week. Stay tuned.
Hasta Pronto,
Thomas Wilde
