A familiar setting. I am sitting on the ocean front terrace at the SURF RIDER VILLA enjoying one of my famous bloody marys. The “crew” is just rolling in after an excursion to LA BOCA and
Wilson’s Castaways Bar there at the inlet. Everyone is super excited . They want to tell me that they saw actor Vin Diesel at LA BOCA with a film crew filming a scene for the new action film FAST AND FURIOUS (sans Paul Walker R.I.P.) Although the
film crew was not at Wilson’s Bar everyone had a front row seat the activities. We don’t know the script yet , but they were
using a small US COAST GUARD boat, a jet ski, and a dirt bike on shore. We’ll wait and see where they use this scene in the film. Just one more interesting event in two very full months here at the villas in January and February.

In the month of January we welcomed Canadians Michael and Russ here from the frozen north. Also Alaska Bert , and Seattle Sounder

Shane. Doctor J ( the young orthopedic surgeon) was here to fall in love again .Also Paper Tiger Tom was here again with Ice Man

for their 6th (? ) visit. The girls call Ice Man “Come Hielo” . Word has it that he sold 40 million dollars of paper last year for Paper Tigers

company. Impressive numbers , and he certainly deserves a vacation here at the villas . Mark was here from St Thomas , Virgin Islands.

He is retired there but vacations here at the villas. Hmmm. Interesting. Then we also saw New Yorker Derek J ( no not THAT Derek J ).

Also real estate magnate and 3 handicap golfer Steve was here for his 3 rd visit this past year. To relax and play with his favorite spinners

Bee Bee, Claudia, and Angelica.

But the “Great East Coast Blizzard of 2016” wreaked havoc on travel plans for
newbie PSYCHE-COLGIST Sean, and repeat guest

Matt the Schooner. The heavy snow in the Washington area in January made them cancel their vacations and reschedule .

There were more than 4.000 flights canceled. But no worries , those two will be here in April . which should be a extra special month

for us here at MWV. We will be celebrating our 16 the year with a great group of guests and some special events.

May we will be celebrating “Birthday Month” and BOMBA WEEK . A month long celebration for 6 very special repeat guests and

their birthdays.

Wait a minute ! I was distracted thinking about all of the fun here in the months of April and May , and I almost forgot to tell you about

February and March

February was a big month and it started with BIG CHRIS here for his 7th visit ( and he reserved to return again in April ). He tried the new

direct flight from Charlotte to Puerto Plata on American airlines and like it. No more lay overs in Miami. With so much time here he should

just have his mail forwarded to the villas.

Harold ( Marvin Kat ) was here for his very first visit . It was truly a “deer in the headlights” experience when he arrived. But he took to the

villas like a duck takes to water. It was quite an experience for him, coming from Iowa. He said “they sure don’t have any women that look

(and act) like this in Iowa.” I don’t think that I have ever seen anyone enjoy walks on the beach here as much as he did. He thought that

he might need BOMBA here to help him with the adjustment to the villas , but he did just fine. I know that MIA sure helped. Definitely his

favorite all week. He said he wanted to take her back in his suitcase. Maybe next trip Harold.

Jake was here from Maine . But you could not call him a MAINE -IAC. He as just too laid back and easy going . He slid right into the

life at the villas. And when he left he swore that he would be back before the end of the year. He was a baseball player in school and

college and even played in the WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC. He asked a lot of questions about baseball here in the DR . And I bet

that he may want to see some local games here on his next trip. For anyone used to baseball in the USA this is definitely an eye opener.

March. As for the month of March ? It is looking like a very busy month here. And thank goodness that we have an early Easter this year.

It falls into the last week of March. Easter Week and Semana Santa are always a very busy week here at the beach. It is the culmination of

Spring Break and the crush of tourists , both international and local, disrupts all services here ( especially transportation) and we are always

glad when it has passed and it is in our rear view mirror. April can’t get here fast enough.

Later on this week (March 7) we welcome Scott, Greg, and Ian (the Old Bull from the two bulls joke ). Ian is from London , and he always

brings a good selection of postage stamp sized TANGA bikinis for the girls. The ones that we learned to love at the villas in Margarita Island

a few years back. So next week will be TANGA WEEK 2016 here at the villas !

Well, my bloody mary glass is empty again . It must have a hole in it ! It looks like I need another one . And a couple of the guys are

asking for one also.

Hey. After the trip to LA BOCA a few of the girls are already in the pool to “knock the dust off” from the trip. Now , if I can just make my

drink and ease out the door , then the bathing suits will probably be coming off. You know if you have been here before that things can get

crazy around here when Tomas is not around. …….Naked pool party anyone ?
