This has been an unusually good year for fishing here on the north coast. A 750 lb blue marlin
was brought in this past week at Sosua. And a “ton” of mahi mahi . I will try to document and
take photos going forward. There is actually a chapter of IGFA out of one DR resort city that
is trying to document billfish catches and releases. The white marlin bite goes from April to
July ( usually). And the blue marlin season is June to October. So far this year there have been
documented 2,632 billfish ( all types of billfish) released on the north coast. It looks that
the strong billfish catch seen off the north coast of Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands is moving.
