The Wild Island Times September 2012

Postby compwiz » Wed Nov 07, 2012 6:15 am

September here in the Caribbean and at the villas has always been a lazy month with a few reservations and a good time to work on the villas and get ready for the winter season ahead. But, for whatever reason, this September has not been anything like that. We did the remodeling of the kitchen at the Beachcomber Villa and the maintenance necessary. But this September has been the busiest September in MWV’s 12 year history, and the busiest MONTH that we have had here in the Dominican Republic in more than 4 years.

We started the month with Jerome ( Hot Wheels), Chy Guy ( back here for his second trip), Cliff ( RagTop), and Zane ( Big “Dick”). You gotta know Zane to understand why we nicknamed him that.

Then the following week we welcomed Rick, Soldier ( who fell in love with little Carmen), and Big Ryan ( who fell in love with Karina). Then later came Brian ( NYC – Good Guy), Ron ( Karate Kid’s Master), and Lance ( the Mango) from L.A.

Paul, ( from the U.K.) , Kevin and Chris came in as “newbees”. Kevin paid for his buddy Chris’s trip as a birthday gift. Holy guano, Batman. It sure is great to have a friend like Kevin. What a birthday it was ! Both of them almost cried when they had to leave. Haven’t we seen that before?

B and M came to the villas to take a break from their busy work schedule. We have many guests that own a business or manage a business ( including some high profile CEOs) and enjoy the villas as a place to “hide away” , recharge the batteries and “let the hair down’. But not many couples that fit that profile. But these two do fit the profile. And they were happy to help us inaugurate our new couples villa, The Sandcastle Villa. Thanks , you two . They enjoyed being close to the main villa ( The Beachcomber) to enjoy the parties and activities there, but just far enough away to have their own space at the couples villa.

As for naming villas. I think we started something with The Sandcastle Villa. So we had to name our other two villas, The Baechcomber Villa and The Pirates Grotto Villa. So now , we officially have three villas. Each one is on the beach, and with it’s own distinct advantages and personality.

We should be ready for anything in 2014. ‘ Looking forward to this winter season and the coming New Year.
