Profman - May 11 to May 20 2016 trip report

Postby Profman69 » Wed May 25, 2016 12:53 pm

It's been a few days now since I got back and finding time to get this report done is not going to get any easier so I am taking time during my work day to live up to my promises and to give back to this incredible community.

This is the public version of my trip report. If you want the more vivid details you will need to book a trip and send in a deposit to get access to the members side of the board and read that version in that area.

So, before I begin let me state unequivocally that if this kind of vacation is something that interests you and it fits your financial wheel house for a vacation then you are not playing with a full deck if you don't book a trip. This is my second trip and I extended my stay to a full 9 days. I fly out from the West Coast in California and to make my trip a bit more relaxed I stay overnight in the Miami International Airport terminal hotel. It's relatively cheap ($129) and avoiding a red eye and killing 6 to 8 hours in the gate area before jumping on AA935 to POP is a plus. I walk out of the terminal hotel after a good nights sleep and a free breakfast directly to security checkpoint #2 (was through in about 10 minutes) and onto my gate.

Flight to POP was uneventful. We were delayed about 15-20 minutes getting out but made it up in the air. As promised the driver was at the airport to take me to the villa.

Arrived and walked up the steps and was greeted by a bevy of beautiful women, some I had seen from my last trip and many who were brand new to the villa and to me. Checked in with the proprietor, unpacked and showered off the travel and got into the customary attire....shorts and a t-shirt. Came back out and met the two guests who were nearing the end of their stay. The sun was out and the weather was beautiful and they were thanking me for that because it had been cloudy, cool and a bit rainy for the prior 4 to 5 days.

After chillin for about 30-45 minutes I started getting into the reason I come to this fabulous spot. So began 9 days of incredible weather, special attention from all of the gorgeous women staying at the villa, great food from our dedicated chef and, well, living in paradise.

Many of the guests like to go on excursions while visiting and on my last trip I participated in a trip to Wilson's for lunch. Didn't get there this trip, I was too focused on other activities. Did make a evening trip to the casino and did well (I will leave it to the proprietor to include in the next newsletter but he was calling me the new "senior swerte"). Disco after the casino and a great night that saw us grabbing pizza and getting back to the villa after 4am.

Suffice it to say that my 9 days were filled with the kind of activity that is near and dear to why I am on this planet. To read more detail, well see the opening of this report.

It has been said too many times and can sound like a broker record or a song stuck on repeat. The only way you can truly understand just how incredible this place is, is to make the trip. You have plenty of options from a short stay to a longer stay so you don't have to commit to a full week if that doesn't fit your scenario. But you do need to go. The fact you are here reading this and other information in this community means you are more than just a likely candidate.

Right now I am planning for an end of October trip but there are some variables that need to settle before I can commit to that time frame. If not October then maybe Christmas!

If you have questions I am happy to answer what I can and what's appropriate for viewing on this public side of the board. Just ask.

Hello Profman,

I am thinking of the same thing about staying overnight in Miami. It sounds like you went through the lines quickly. How was the return trip going through customs and did you stay at the airport again? That is what I was thinking about doing. This maybe the wrong post for asking, if so sorry.

Thanks,

No worries swirls. I didn't stay on the trip home. The scheduled flights and connections actually get me home at a reasonable hour to SFO. Usually around 11:4pm west coast so a overnight isn't needed when heading home. Clearing customs at MIA wasn't and issue. I had about 2.5 hours between my scheduled arrival time at MIA from POP before the MIA to SFO departure and after clearing customs and resend in my checked bag I had more than an hour to sit and eat dinner before scheduled boarding time at MIA.

I didn't have any problems last September either and I book essentially the same schedule each time.

Swirls my new brother. If you're going to stay overnight and MIA, ask for a handicap room. We discussed this with profman magic man when I was there last week. It's a much better room and they cannot refuse if they have one available. And due to the rules of HIPPA they are not allowed to ask what your disability is. I've done this many times although I do actually have a legitimate handicap total knee replacement. But they have never asked during the reservation or when I showed up at the desk about any disabilities whatsoever. Just a suggestion

Hi Pica, Great Idea and I too would not have a guilty conscience as I have one as well. I usually end up in one traveling even though I do not ask. Strange.

Well until AA started the Sat-Sat direct CLT to POP I had to go thru MIA every time. If I didn't spend the night at MIA I basically lost a whole day recuperating from the trip over. Twice a year since 2009! Handicap room every time ...no hassle. Hell, the bathroom in the handicap room is as big as the small single room. THIS IS YOUR VACATION!
So, you really need to show up rested! And on another point, do what you want. Let the chicas take of you like the King you are when you are in the Villa. Don't let them push you into any 2or341's, unless YOU WANT TOO. Remember, they are there to make money! They all talk about each guest, and how can they "work" you. Loose your American male mentality at the airport. You should only have to ask a chica for something and it should be done with a smile. In fact after a little while they should be asking you if you need anything. And please do not take your dirty dishes to the sink...EVER, sets a bad precedent. Just remember they are there for YOU in all aspects! Read up on the boards and you'll see a lot of good info on how to make your trip THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO YOU, EVER!!!
